If you don't have an IFTA account yet, you need the new account and decal setup first. If you already hold an IFTA license, you need to file a return every quarter regardless of whether you drove in a given period.
Generally, carriers operating a qualifying motor vehicle (typically over 26,000 lbs, or three or more axles) in two or more IFTA member jurisdictions.
IFTA returns are due quarterly regardless of whether the vehicle traveled. Your base jurisdiction sets its own penalty and interest rules for late or missed returns.
