1. Who we are

permits.agency is operated by BKS Accounting Group Inc. We are a private compliance services company. We are not the IRS, the FMCSA, a state DMV, or any other government agency, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. We are an IRS-authorized e-file provider for Form 2290.

2. What we do

We prepare, review, and file paperwork for trucking compliance: Form 2290 (HVUT) e-filing, USDOT number registration, MC Authority, BOC-3 process agent filing, UCR registration, MCS-150 biennial updates, IFTA licensing and filing, related state fuel-tax and weight-distance permits, and optional packages and business-formation and branding add-ons. Our service catalog lists what is currently offered and what each costs.

Form 2290 is filed electronically through our IRS-authorized e-file connection. Other services are prepared and submitted by our compliance team after purchase.

3. Review before filing

Before anything is transmitted to the IRS or filed with a state or federal agency, a member of our team reviews what you submitted. If something looks off, we contact you to fix it before filing. We file only what you have reviewed and approved.

4. What we do not do

• We do not sign your Form 2290 for you. The return is signed with the taxpayer’s own PIN. We transmit a return you have signed.
• We do not pay your tax. The Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax is owed to the IRS, is separate from our fee, and is paid separately by bank debit (EFW), EFTPS, or card.
• We do not give legal advice. The Permits Wizard and the guidance on this site are educational and are not a substitute for a conversation with our team about your situation.
• We do not control how long an agency takes. New USDOT numbers, MC Authority, UCR and similar registrations take as long as the agency takes to process them, which varies. We track each filing and tell you when its status changes.

5. Your responsibilities

• The information you give us must be accurate. We check what each filing requires, but we cannot know whether a VIN belongs to the right vehicle or a weight category is the right one.
• You are responsible for filing on time. Start early: agency processing times are outside our control.
• If you sign or give consent on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have the authority to do so.
• Keep your account credentials to yourself. Anyone signed in to your account can act in your name.

6. Fees and payment

Our price is what we charge for preparing, reviewing, and filing your paperwork. Government and agency fees (for example the FMCSA operating authority fee, UCR fees based on fleet size, and state fees) are set by that agency, paid to that agency, and never marked up by us. Where a government fee applies, it is shown before you pay.

Payment is processed by our payment provider. We do not store card numbers.

The Fleet Compliance Program is billed monthly and can be canceled any time.

7. Rejections and corrections

If the IRS rejects a Form 2290 we reviewed, we correct the issue and refile it at no additional charge. If a VIN needs correcting on a Form 2290 we filed, we correct and refile it at no charge.

8. Refunds and cancellations

Form 2290. Our fee covers preparing and transmitting a return. Once a return has been transmitted to the IRS the work is done and our fee is not refundable. If you paid and we have not transmitted, write to support@permitsagency.com. A refund of our fee is never a refund of tax paid to the IRS; that is a matter between you and the IRS.

Other services. If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as early as you can and we will tell you where it stands.

9. Availability

The IRS Modernized e-File system has its own maintenance windows and annual shutdown periods. During those we can accept and hold your return but cannot transmit it, however available our own site is.

11. Changes

We may change these terms and will post the updated page here. Fees already quoted on an order in progress do not change under you.
